“Afro Blue” EP blends electronic music, jazz, and African musical tradition, such as pygmy’s counterpoint and Baka water drumming. It interweaves sounds of different nature: synths, samples recorded at Lake Huron and live and emotional vocals. Jazz standards are used here as material, re-harmonised, and recontextualised by Anna and Daria into modern and refreshing music. This work is about the ability to hear it in noise and about the absence of a clear boundary between the sounds of nature and the music we create because ultimately we are sound objects in this world song.
